The general skills required for a transcriptionist are keyboarding, exceptionally good grammar and spelling skills and off course good listening and fast learning.
Medical establishments do not allow newbie’s to work from home. They usually seek some onsite experience before letting the transcriber to work from home. Job opportunities are good in this field especially for those who are certified.
The digital voice format that transcriptionist gets covers pretty much that happens between the doctor and the patient. So the transcriber should comply with the legal and ethical requirements for keeping the patient confidentiality.
Regardless of the economy, medical industry is prospering so as medical transcription job. Even with the bad economy, if you want to a have a stable career, medical transcription can be the one.
